FC MODEL
Kaarina Aho's earthenware FC model or Palapeli (Puzzle) service first appeared in the 1964 catalogue. The advertisiment in the "Kaunis Koti" magazine of the same year claimed that it would enable you to create beautiful table arrangements for both everyday meals and festive occasions. In fact a lot of thought was paid to the shortage of storage space in homes when this service was being designed - thi while 30-piece service for 6 could be stacked up in one pile. The bowls, vegetable dishes and platter were oven-proof, and the plates and vegetable dishes couls be used as lids for the bowls. The service also inculded coffee and teacups, and it was possile to buy the individual pieces separately.
The first coloured decoration for the Palapeli service were apricot yellow and myrtle green. It was also available up until 1974 as Ali (pictured below) with Raija Uosikkinen's blue, copper-plate decoration, and as Kehäkukka (Calendule) and Aprikoosi (Apricot) with a silk-screen pattern.
